Privacy Policy

The short version

Your birth details are personal data. We encrypt them at rest, we use them only to compute your chart and ground your readings, we never sell them, and you can delete your account and data at any time.

What we collect

• Birth details — date, time (if known), and birthplace — used to compute your astrological chart. Stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) at rest.
• Contact details — your phone number (if you use the text/call line) and email (if you email yourself a chart).
• Conversations — your chats, texts, and call transcripts with our AI astrologers, kept so your astrologer can remember your prior sessions.
• Payment details — handled by our payment processor (NMI). Card numbers are tokenized in your browser and never touch our servers; we store only a payment token and the card's last four digits.

How your data is used

• Computing your chart with the Swiss Ephemeris engine.
• Grounding AI readings: your chart placements and conversation history are provided to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. API traffic is retained by Anthropic for up to 30 days for safety monitoring — not for training.
• Remembering you between sessions: so your astrologer can pick up where you left off, we keep a short, encrypted summary of your conversations (across calls, chat, and texts) and use it to personalize future readings. It's deleted when you delete your account, any time.
• Voice calls: your spoken audio is streamed to our speech provider (Deepgram) to transcribe your words and voice your astrologer's replies in real time.
• Sending the messages you've opted into (see Text Messaging Program).
• Billing for the paid features you choose.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing.
• We do not use your conversations to train AI models.

Deletion & your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app, or by emailing hello@starweather.co. We honor applicable GDPR and CCPA rights, including access, correction, deletion, and portability. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

Service providers

We use a small set of processors to run Starweather: Anthropic (AI responses), Deepgram (speech transcription and voice), Twilio (the phone line), NMI (payments), and a geocoding service (birthplace lookup). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Age

Starweather is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
